She’s still not out of hospital yet, but in the mean time…..
Just go here and sign it please.
Op Day +2
Today my wife was moved onto a normal ward having spent 24 hrs in Intensive Care and 24 hrs in a High Dependency ward. Everything seems to be going well so lets hope her recovery continues.
Op Day -1
Stress levels are dangerously high at the minute, I have (I hope, given we haven’t confirmed that the hospital have a bed for my wife yet) 2 hrs before I leave the office to take her to the hospital. Things will be a little sketchy here for a while so don’t expect many updates.
On the up side, watched the 1st & 2nd eps of Heroes Season 3. OMG does it look good. Don’t want to say too much and spoil it for those who haven’t watched it yet.
My next blog should be full of good news.
Just when you think you’ve got it all under control…..
Well, I have returned from a week’s holiday, well when I say holiday, a couple of days away at a hotel, followed by a few days of getting everything ready for my wife’s op next week and then a few days of relaxation.
The two days away were certainly memorable, we spent them at Littlecote House, a Warner Hotel just outside of Hungerford. I am not sure exactly what I was expecting, but the top suite in a Tudor mansion was certainly not it. The first impression of the hotel was that we had walked into the middle of a Saga holiday. The truth of the matter??? We had walked into the middle of a Saga holiday!!! So we were by far the youngest people there, the downside??? None really. The Upside??? No fighting for access to the pool/spa/steam room/sauna/snooker table/putting green/archery range etc etc etc.
The only real problem with the holiday was that because we were in one of the top suites, we were in the old Littlecote House, rather than the new hotel complex that had been built. What I had not realised beforehand was that Littlecote House is the 3rd most haunted house in the UK. So the obvious question is did I see anything??? The answer to that is No. Did I hear anything, the answer to that is a spine chilling YES!!!! Middle of the first night I am lying in bed when I wake up around 4am. I suddenly hear the gutteral moan and my immediate thought is that something is up with my wife. However I suddenly realised that the sound had not come from my right where my wife was sleeping but from the direction of the foot of the bed, where there was only the wall. The wall that on the other side of which is the “Haunted Bedroom”, the most haunted place in the house. Didn’t sleep too well after that, or the second night either. I did spend a lot of time walking round that house, finding quiet corners and taking photos. I do have a rather nice shot I took of the haunted room with a huge great orb in the center of the picture. Spooky!!!
Anyway we are now in to real countdown mode as far as my wife’s op goes, 8 days until she is admitted and 9 until the op itself. My mind is simply yearning for any kind of distraction at the minute so that I don’t think about it at all. All I can say is that my life will start again around 1st October in some form or another.
I am still here!!!
Well real-life continues to dominate at the minute, we finally have an Operation date through for my wife and 25th September is only 30 days away. This really focuses the mind and even the fact that we have a holiday coming up and also a weekend away between now and then can’t seem to raise the spirits. As everyone says, open heart surgery is a common operation these days, but there are always risks and I challenge anyone to not be nervous over something like this.
