Empire magazine have just released a special edition “501 DVDs your collection should contain”.  Now surprisingly I don’t have all of them, in fact I probably only managed to get 50-100 from the list already owned.  However the surprising thing was that the category that I had the highest percentage in was actually War, not Sci-Fi or Action as I was expecting.  However I suppose this is mainly due to the fact that whilst I don’t have many War films, those I do are bloody good, classics such as “The Great Escape” and “The Longest Day” alongside more modern films like “Saving Private Ryan” and “The Red Line”.  All in all it does make for interesting reading and will certainly be pointing me in some new purchases although with a number of the realeases being R1 disks, I suspect Amazon.com might be getting a vist.
